Steven Krems, M.D., is the Chief Medical Officer at Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.

Dr Krems began his Internal Medicine practice in Marina Del Rey in 1993 and has been involved in the hospital’s medical staff leadership since the mid-1990’s.  He has served on numerous hospital committees and was Chief of Staff from 2006 to 2008 and again from 2016 to 2018.

In addition to his work as the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Krems continues to follow his passion for clinical medicine by seeing patients in his Internal Medicine practice with Cedars Sinai Medical Group at his outpatient office across the street from the hospital.

Dr Krems is also the Team Medical Doctor for the LA Clippers basketball team which he also began in 1993.

Steve is happily married to his wife Lesley, and they have a 25-year-old daughter, Jennifer and 2 cats.

He enjoys the ocean, hiking, reading and travel.

Joanne Laguna-Kennedy, MSN, RN, CENP, is Vice President of Hospital Operations and Chief Operating Officer at Cedars-Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.

Joanne is a seasoned executive leader who has served in multiple roles inside Cedars-Sinai system and in other healthcare organizations for nearly two decades. She has a breadth of knowledge and experience in clinical care and hospital operations. She takes pride in assembling teams to improve the delivery of care focusing on improving quality outcomes, staff and patient engagement.

Joanne serves as the on-site executive responsible for day-to-day operations at Cedars Sinai Marina del Rey Hospital.

Joanne arrived at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center almost 10 years ago. She briefly served as Associate Director of the Neurosurgery/Neurosciences ICU Unit before being promoted to Executive Director of Nursing with a broad portfolio of responsibilities. After eight years, Joanne was promoted again to her role as Vice President of Hospital Operations and Chief Nursing Officer before being appointed Chief Operating Officer in June 2021.

Prior to moving to Los Angeles, Joanne was the Director of a Neuro medical-surgical unit in a hospital in Gainesville, Florida. In the early years of her career, she worked as a public health nurse and as a forensic, sexual assault nurse examiner.

She is married to Ryan and has a beautifully blended family with four children ages 23, 19, 12 and 10. Joanne loves golf, tennis, travel and reading.

He enjoys the ocean, hiking, reading and travel.
