Holly J. Mitchell | Los Angeles County Board of Supervisor

Holly J. Mitchell serves on the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors, where she leads with a deep understanding of the vital safety net LA County provides to millions of people and a commitment to ensuring that all residents can thrive.

Within her first term as Supervisor, a few of her accomplishments, with the support of the Board of Supervisors, include launching a countywide RV homelessness encampment resolution program as part of the County’s Pathway Home initiative, passing a landmark countywide guaranteed income program that includes foster youth, supporting small businesses in keeping their doors open, making LA County the first in the nation to phase out urban oil drilling and strengthening the County’s ability to respond to mental health crises among our unhoused residents quickly.

Supervisor Mitchell is honored to represent the two million residents of Los Angeles County’s Second District – including the neighborhood she grew up in – Leimert Park, along with the cities of Carson, Compton, Culver City, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthorne, Hermosa Beach, Inglewood, Lawndale, Los Angeles (portions), Manhattan Beach, Redondo Beach, and a dozen unincorporated communities.

Luanne Casillas | 2024/2025 Honorary Mayor of Westchester by the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce

Luanne Casillas,was appointed the 2024/2025 Honorary Mayor of Westchester by the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce.
Serves as a co-chair of the Women’s Lifestyle Committee & former board member of the LAX Coastal.
The creator of Blend2day, a networking group educating women on finance. She is a living benefit and income preservation specialist with Financial Concepts of America. Doing business in the LAX & surrounding areas.

Ravi Sankaran | President of the Del Rey Neighborhood Council

Ravi Sankaran is President of the Del Rey Neighborhood Council (DRNC) and has served on the DRNC Board since 2020. During the 11 years he has lived in Del Rey he has attended or participated in the MdR Holiday Boat Parade almost every year, including 2 years where he led boat teams and in 2016 took home a prize for Best Lights. Sankaran has 20 years’ experience in the electric power industry, where he has spent the majority of his career developing large-scale wind and solar energy projects that deliver zero emissions electricity to customers in California and throughout the US West, including multiple projects that directly serve the City of Los Angeles. Sankaran is a big supporter of the Holiday Boat Parade and other events around Burton Chace Park since they enhance the quality of life for residents throughout the Westside.

Maria Canchola | Director of Marketing and Communications for Hollywood Park Casino (HPC)

Maria Canchola is Director of Marketing and Communications for Hollywood Park Casino (HPC). Maria brings more than 25 years of valuable branding and marketing experience to the table. Originally from the Coachella Valley, she began her career in Indian gaming, working with tribes throughout Southern California. Maria’s portfolio includes significant contributions to prominent projects, such as the grand opening of Morongo Casino Resort & Spa, the expansion of Fantasy Springs Casino, and leading marketing efforts for Paradise and Quechan Casino in Arizona. Over the past nine years, Maria has served as the Marketing Director for the new Hollywood Park Casino.

In her role at HPC, she has successfully collaborated with major brands to enhance the overall marketing impact and managed the re-branding of the new Hollywood Park Casino and the Los Angeles Cardroom, strategically positioned adjacent to Sofi Stadium in Inglewood. Throughout her career, Maria has demonstrated a commitment to brand elevation and consistency, and it’s this skillset she so generously shares with the LAX Coastal Chamber of Commerce.

Over the past year, Maria has donated her expertise, working collaboratively with designers and our web developer to elevate our brand here at the Chamber. Maria is looking forward to continuing these efforts over the next year during her tenure as LAX Coastal Chamber’s Chair of the Board.

Jeff Pielet | Commodore, Del Rey Yacht Club

Jeff is the 73rd Commodore of the Del Rey Yacht Club.   HIs parents were avid boaters and he began boating and sailing when he was six-weeks old.  He and his wife, Ellie, are both power boaters and sailors.  Jeff was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for more than 41 years, retiring at the rank of Commander.  He enjoys giving back to our boating community.

Albert Hernandez | District Governor

Albert Hernandez is no stranger to hardwork and perseverance. Having grown up in a low-income community, number five of eleven brothers and sisters, and in a single parent household he had to take on many responsibilities at an early age.

Having attended Camp RYLA in 2002 as a high school junior he shares that he will always remember that weekend as the moment he realized he  had something inside him to help others in need. He was blown away that 40 Rotarians would volunteer their weekend to help students find their leadership potential. The following year he returned to RYLA as a counselor and wanted to give students the same experience he was fortunate enough to receive.

In 2005, at the age of 19, Albert was invited to join the Rotary family. He became a proud member of the Rotary Club of Burbank Noon Where he remains active. Albert spent the next few years volunteering for various positions in the Club from Youth Service Chair to President of the Club’s Foundation. He helped organize several projects that he is proud of including the Rotary Reads program, Shop with a Cop, co-chair the Club’s Centennial Celebration and the installation of the Rotary Clock Tower in beautiful Downtown Burbank. Albert became Club President in 2018, a year he says he will always cherish.

Albert works full-time as the Chief Executive Officer of Home Again Los Angeles an organization he has dedicated the last nine years of his life in building. Home Again Los Angeles is non-profit homeless service agency committed to helping homeless families with children move into shelter and work towards securing permanent housing.

Albert lives in Santa Clarita alongside his wife Elizabeth and their 11 year old daughter Madison. Albert’s hobbies include volunteering alongside his daughter, traveling, trying new restaurants, and Dodger’s baseball.

Albert may be our District’s youngest District Governor, something he wants to bring to light as a way to encourage others who are working full time with a young family to consider working towards giving out District new leaders we can all learn from.
